I've been involved with craft shows for a long time and have been on both sides of the table ... type and a client .. Here is a list of the top ten "losing money" tricks.:

1) Discuss your crafts on a table without any thought of the screen, look sullen, set your chair behind the table and read a book. Better yet, do not even pay attention to their potential customers.

2) Eat a large onion burger loaded with cheese, which is more bigger than your mouth, have to bear with ketchup and mustard, and everyone knows he is eating!, then try to explain their crafts, while people moving away from you! (Why always sell cheeseburgers at craft fairs??)

3) Dress like you just announced a barn, crisp look, and act as if you prefer to be elsewhere ... elsewhere. The total lack of interest that attracts customers always ... NO!

4) Take absolutely no interest in the installer ... Take your table and jam up the corridor as close as you can, then put all their crafts in one file. , or better yet, pile them in a pile .. or the containers ... ignoring all that space behind you where I could have spent the money on the shelves and displays their products well.

5) Do not laugh at all totally annoying aspect that has been taken out of bed for this weekend, and you and your craft seems. Show a total lack of interest when a potential customer stops to look or ask a question, better yet, wander and Chit Chat with other providers.

6) Make sure that their craft come together, literally, the night before, and are about to collapse, and then put a high price tag on them. After all no one will account no?

7) Thinking this is a craft business big money maker, and prices of their craft as if people are to be bless .. and then see totally crusty end of the day when people are not buying.

Make sure and have no small change, or bags, so you will not have to get up and complete the sale.

9) Make crafts that do not like or do not know how to correctly do not explain to anyone. No show passion in their work or the screen, which everyone knows is there for the money only.

10) Tell people that you are about welfare and the need for this money, and stick notes to produce your business cards ..

Do not laugh ... each of these things has happened at shows I have visited or shown I've been inside was actually set up next to someone who told me he hates crafts, but figured it was easy money ... Guess what? .. Its sales were nonexistent.

Smile, a passion in their work .. have confidence in their work, and the best way is to create art that they are passionate. Something that would, even if not sold. Her proud to be there ... after all I worked hard all year for this show!

Find what your passion is, in the craft world, this makes a difference, and it shows in their work.

Establish a fake screen at home, I know this sounds like a lot of work, but the day of installation, there will be panic around him, and if your stuff away in some kind of system, then unpack files in a calm way. You can even draw a picture of the settings you made at home, and follow it. You will be distracted by other suppliers, especially pilgrims who spent 5 minutes ... for creating your best if you practice.
