Fabric Dye Resist

Fabric Dye Resist

This is a good way to renew a tired looking sofa or simply change the color to blend in with the new living room decor. You can work out much cheaper than buying a new sofa or a set of covers and you can do your bit for the environment by recycling your old sofa rather than sending to landfill and buy a new one.

Considerations to take into account:

1. Does the original color extraction need first? Perhaps his new color is paler, an entirely different tone or badly faded. It is very important to remember, as with the decor, preparation is the key to a result successful, and if you try to apply a base color to dye unevenly faded it still will show through.

Never use bleach as this can damage fabric, use a dye-stripping agent recommended by your paint. Rarely printed cloth strip and patterns will show through in all colors, but the darkest.

2. An extraction process before the dye can also incorporate a washing process to try to eliminate some of the surface of the sofa that may interfere with the dye or even after showing through dye.

Examples of potential problems are:

a. Used resist stain unevenly or flame retardants, for example, if you've only washed the cushion covers and not the basis of a sofa in the past.
b. Several spills and stains that could block any dye or accelerate the absorption of the dyes in some localized areas (some dyes are attracted to the fat or oil).

3. If you are going to use a washing machine I suggest some points to consider:

a. You must have sufficient space for the material to circulate freely to avoid tie patchy and uneven effects of dye. The drum should be not more than half.
b. If the load has to be dyed in several batches of these must be weighed accurately so close as the same weight as possible and the quantities of dye to be in direct proportion to the weight of each batch.
c. The previous point also applies the preparation and the preparation phase will uneven coloring strip .. uneven dyeing

4. Handling powder dye can be a very dirty, follow all safety precautions recommended by the supplier of dye. Note that it is very easy to contaminate other tissues such as avoiding projects that can collect ink particles, or deposited in fabrics or surfaces that can cause problems later. Clean all surfaces before and after and the use of protective clothing adequate.

This can be illustrated with a case that has witnessed dye powder in someone's hair and realize that they were developing patches of color throughout what looked to the rest of the day.

5. If you have stained a dark color in your washing machine to run several loads through darkness to help reduce the possibility residual dye stains pale colors.

6. You need to know the fiber content of your couch to check their suitability. Cotton, linen and viscose accept easily dye colors relevant source. Synthetic fibers such as polyester and nylon dye and not in the best spot to a very pale version Color illustrated.

Combinations of cotton and polyester for a more pale color illustrated and will be in proportion to the percentage of polyester.

7. In accordance with section 6. Any visible or sewing thread is pulled or dye polyester and will remain the original color.

8. Note that the contraction could be a problem if the covers have been washed with success this is an indication that any decline should be acceptable.

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Resist dyeing (resistdyeing) is a term for a number of traditional methods of dyeing textiles with patterns. Methods are used to resist or prevent the dye from reaching all the cloth, thereby creating a pattern and ground. The most common forms use wax, some type of paste, or a mechanical resist that manipulates the cloth such as tying or stitching. Another form of resist involves using a chemical agent in a specific type of dye that will repel another type of dye printed over the top. The most wellknown varieties today include tiedye and batik.
