If you want to teach their children the value of recycling, it would be helpful if you give them some practical experience. Knowing firsthand how important recycling is and what can be done with materials that are considered by some as trash will give your kids a greater appreciation for recycling.
A simple craft can get your kids started on recycling. Here are some recycling projects for children that their children may enjoy working.

A good recycling project for children is to make a letter holder from old data CDs and foam. Old CDs data are difficult to remove sometimes, and so is foam packaging.

The foam packaging serves as the base of the holder of the letter, so you can shape the form you want and decorate as you did the CD. Subsequently cut into the foam panels where you can insert the CD.
2. A bird feeder of cards milk
This is another simple recycling project for children also are taught to appreciate nature. This works well if you live outside of the city, you'd have a better chance to attract birds.

Usually, throw paper bags, but these can be good materials for recycling projects for children. All you need do is to get your kids to paint these shopping bags the way you want, put the strings to it, and then go fly kites.
An important thing to remember when making your children do for recycling projects children is to supervise them, especially when using sharp objects like scissors, so as not to hurt themselves.
