How do I remove fabric paint from my off white carpet?

My niece and daughter slipped into the purple fabric paint, and got it all at various points. It's purple paint. Some points are thick, while others are thin and weak. Thank you. Yay! I got it off. I ended up using lubricated lighning cleaner. We sprayed on, and gently rubbing and washing, and that came right off. I cleaned my carpet with clean water after removing the excess. Thanks for all the answers!

I doubt that can be removed. Fabric paint is formulated to penetrate the fibers and become permanent.
