There is a very good book called "Grow your own cut flowers" by Sarah Raven published by BBC Worldwide, which might help. (Amazon are brilliant getting books from overseas) It is suggested that the flowers like sweet peas, scabious and snapdragons, dahlias and daisies, but have to concentrate on the year and ensure that does not drag on the biennial, as it does not bloom in time.

Sweetpea lovely colors, with lilac-blue scabious and pink lipstick the zinnias look great, you could even pop a few flower freesias and roses bought in just for good measure. But if it can be done with this book, that will help I'm sure.

You can consider a bouquet of flowers tied wedding where the flowers will retain all their natural stems and no cable. I've been looking for alternatives for you and can suggest the following: white and lilac MOP headed hydrangeas (will give you a lovely group)

Spurs come in some lovely shades of lilac and blue and white and little used in aerosols could look a little like lilac. I have in a vase at home some wonderful artificial lilac stems have been admired by many people. Perhaps combined with some fresh foliage and perhaps another variety of flowers, this could be an alternative ... to have a look around and ask about lilac silk, but make sure it's really good. How far will insert the stems on the size of bouquet holders choose to use. You should leave the stems as long as possible without making them stick out from the other side. One inch is shorter.

I would recommend you try get your hands on some FloraLock. This is an adhesive that comes with a nozzle that sprays directly on the foam and flowers around the stems after completion of the regime. But make sure you are in love with the agreement before pasting! You can not make any changes to the agreement once FloraLock has dried. In addition, you does not need much of it. Use it sparingly until you get the hang of it, or you will be dripping down the handle of the bouquet holder. I do not know if FloraLock is available at any craft stores - a florist may need to order it for you.
