Stars And Moon Activities And Crafts For Preschool
Posted in Crafts on 02/28/2003 08:23 pm by adminMemory verses are a great tool to reinforce lessons and Bible stories to his Sunday school class. Older children are better able to remember and retain the verses from memory, but preschoolers need a little more time. The following tips will help you teach your children to Sunday school memory verses, while retaining the lesson.
Keep it simple:
The first rule of thumb when teaching the class for a memory verse is to keep it as simple as possible. Preschoolers just do not have the ability to remember long, complicated lines. Simple is always better. To keep the memory simple lines, the goal of a single sentence, or just a few words to get the point of the lesson across. Simple examples of easy to memorize verses include Luke 12:34: For where your treasure is, there will your heart. Or, Psalms 148:3: Praise ye, sun and moon, praise him, all the stars you of light. These are just two examples of how simple you can keep the memory verse for children to remember.
Have fun with it:
Then, for preschoolers to maintain a verse from memory, and not want to have fun with it again and again. Repetition is boring at this age, so think of ways to incorporate the verse in their weekly activities. For the above examples, you could make a star and moon mobile for children to carry home, or stars and moons stamp on a sheet of black paper for light in the dark paint. Be sure to include the memory verse on each ship, too.
Sing the verse:
Another great idea to help your children remember their lines from memory to arrive at a simple song or poem can be sung or said. He simply said that the verse can not do the trick, but put it with a catchy tune, and you may find that they are able to recall much faster.
Give awards:
It is possible also want to consider offering rewards to remember the verses by heart. Enter the verse a week and send home for practice. If the child can repeat verse of the next week we will add a label to a graphic memory verse or get a small treat of a box of prizes. You want to have expectations realistic for their children, too. On average, you can expect preschool children to remember and memorize one verse a month.
It is not impossible for their preschool children to remember the verses by heart. Helping them along the presentation of these verses in a fun, memorable way.
